Detailed description
"Rid'Air team's opinion: The Theta ULS is the missing link many have been waiting for. It combines the legendary accessibility of the Epsilon with the performance of the Iota, all in an 'Ultra Light' structure derived from the X-Alps Omega ULS. It's the ultimate Mid-B cross-country wing for those who want to travel light without sacrificing serenity in flight."
Advance Theta ULS: The Ultra-Light Mid-B Adventure
The Advance Theta ULS (Ultra Light Structure) redefines the intermediate category. Positioned between the Epsilon DLS and the Iota DLS, this wing benefits from all the technological innovations developed for the most demanding hike & fly competitions. It is aimed at pilots looking for a wing capable of doing everything: from bivouac flying to cross-country, with a starting weight of just 3.1 kg.
The heart of the Theta ULS lies in its filigree internal structure. Derived from the experience gained with the Omega ULS, it uses optimized rib cut-outs (micro crossports) and Nitinol rods to maintain a perfect profile while minimizing packing volume. Its new profile ensures ideal pressure distribution, offering extremely balanced pitch behavior that absorbs turbulence for maximum flight comfort.
In terms of handling, it integrates an effective Pitch Control system on the rear risers. The control handles on the Cs transmit impulses directly to the Bs, allowing for pitch correction in accelerated flight without deforming the profile, similar to a 2-liner wing. The high-end Edelrid Pro Dry lines ensure exemplary dimensional stability and excellent visibility during untangling thanks to their differentiated colors.
The Theta ULS is a high-performance Mid-B wing. While very accessible, its ultra-light construction requires particular care on the ground to ensure its longevity. It is ideal for pilots flying at least 40 hours per year and proficient in thermal flying.
