Frequently Asked Questions

How to choose the right certification class (EN-A, EN-B, EN-C, EN-D)?
The EN class reflects the level of piloting skill required, not pure performance. EN-A is for starting out and relaxed flying; EN-B is for the vast majority of recreational and cross-country pilots (this is where ~80% of pilots fly); EN-C and EN-D are for experienced to very experienced pilots. The right approach: choose the most accessible wing that covers your flying program — progressing safely always takes precedence over moving up a class. If in doubt, call us; we'll guide you based on your actual experience.
How do I know if a paraglider is the right size for me?
You don't choose a paraglider based on the pilot's size, but on their PTV (Total Flying Weight): which is your all-up weight (you + harness + reserve + equipment). Each paraglider size is certified for a specific PTV range. Ideally, aim for the middle, or even the lower end of the range for more comfort and margin, rather than the upper end. Let us know your PTV, and we'll confirm the size with you.
Is it better to buy a new or used wing for beginners?
A new wing ensures the fabric and lines are in their original condition, with fully valid certification — which is reassuring when learning. A used wing can be a good option if it's recent, has few flight hours, and comes with an up-to-date technical inspection. Regardless of your choice, always check the PTV compatibility and the general condition. We can inspect the equipment at our workshop in Oderen.
