Detailed description
"Rid'Air team's opinion: The SuSi 4 is the ultimate Hike & Fly Swiss Army knife. Going from school (EN-A certified from 18m²) to speed-flying with the same wing is AirDesign's feat. More robust, more stable at high speeds, and still as light (from 1.95 kg), it is the quintessential #Superlight4all wing."
SuSi 4 #Superlight4all: Unlimited Versatility
The AirDesign SuSi 4 is the fourth generation of the renowned "Super Simple" series. This wing is probably the most versatile in the world: it is used by beginners in school as well as by extreme mountaineers or dynamic hike & fly enthusiasts. Its strength lies in its immense weight range, which allows you to define your flight program according to the chosen size.
Featuring a new Shark Nose profile and Nitinol rods, the SuSi 4 gains stability, especially when using the speed system. The rear-riser steering system (B-C control) makes its appearance, offering increased stability at high speeds. In terms of construction, it uses Porcher Skytex 27 classic II with double coating, ensuring superior longevity compared to classic mountain wings while maintaining record compactness to fit into any trail bag.
Take-off is remarkably easy, even in the most complex configurations, thanks to ground attachment loops. In the air, roll is better controlled than on the previous version, offering a more serene and balanced flight sensation, whether you are thermalling or rapidly descending from a summit.
The SuSi 4 offers very different behaviors depending on its wing loading. In the standard range, it is a reassuring school wing (EN-A). In the extended range, it becomes a fast and reactive speed machine (EN-B to D depending on size) intended for experienced pilots.
