Until now, Rogallo-type parachutes were heavy, bulky, and their glide upon opening, in our opinion, limited their interest for cross-country use (risk of severe mirror effect, risk of orienting towards an obstacle if the pilot did not immediately manage their reserve).

Deployment and Handling

The Krisis Rogallo II is deployed like a classic reserve (pull and throw). It moves progressively horizontally and can then be steered using the two brake toggles, even when the paraglider is still attached: thanks to the reduced horizontal speed, the paraglider is sufficiently unloaded to be neutralized by the B-risers with one hand. The other hand can then be used to steer the reserve. Pilots equipped with a paraglider release system can fully benefit from the qualities of the Krisis Rogallo II: the glide ratio is doubled for a slightly higher sink rate.
