Detailed description

The five-sided rescue that refuses to pendulum

The NOVA PENTAGON is the first pentagonal rescue parachute. This five-sided shape is not a gimmick: it combines fast opening, a contained sink rate, and above all, remarkable pendulum damping — exactly what you expect from a rescue when everything goes wrong.

A self-stabilizing geometry

On the PENTAGON, each corner faces an edge where the airflow is different: if the parachute starts to oscillate towards a corner, the asymmetry of the lift creates a restoring force that automatically counteracts the movement. Result: a stable descent, without a swinging effect. The five corner vents also accelerate inflation during opening.

A water-resistant parachute fabric

The PENTAGON is entirely constructed from Porcher Sport PN9, a fabric used for BASE parachutes, chosen for its durability and water resistance: even after a water landing, the rescue remains fully functional. On our sites bordered by lakes and ponds, this is not a minor detail.

A forgiving packing

All lower lines have the same length, are color-coded, and regularly spaced; packing loops guide each step. Packing is simple and the risk of error is minimal — we confirm this in the workshop, where we pack rescues all year round.

Cyrille's advice: for sizing, calculate your full PTV — pilot, wing, harness, all dressed — and keep some margin below the maximum load: an overloaded rescue descends quickly. And regardless of the model, have it repacked at least once a year; that's exactly what we do at the Oderen workshop.
