Detailed description

Rid'Air Team's Opinion — The Ozone Arc is clearly positioned as a wing dedicated to committed speedriding and speedflying enthusiasts, especially in the mountains. Its program is geared towards steep descents and dynamic piloting, with the ability to take off and land quickly on varied slopes. On paper, its technical characteristics, such as the extended trim range and very long brake travel, suggest a wing tolerant to piloting errors for powerful actions, while allowing rapid progression for freestyle maneuvers. This type of pilot will find it a precise and reactive tool. However, we recommend this wing to pilots who already have solid experience in paragliding or speedriding, because even if it is described as « stable », its capacity for extreme descent angles requires good mastery. If you are a complete beginner, other more progressive models will be more suitable.

Manufacturer's Word

The Arc is optimized for high-mountain speedriding. It is capable of the steepest descent angles of our entire range. Its reduced line length, long trim range, and generous brake travel allow for dynamic piloting on slopes, with the ability to take flight quickly. The Arc ensures predictable and reliable inflation and take-off, essential for tackling steep lines in the mountains. Its behavior on snow, thanks to very long brake travel, allows for powerful inputs without stalling, facilitating quick disconnections, re-landings, and freestyle maneuvers.

Technologies & Innovations

  • Mountain Optimization: Specifically designed for high-mountain speedriding, with a capacity for extreme descent angles.
  • Extended Trim Range: The longest of all the brand's speed wings, allowing for great gliding versatility. The last 3 centimeters are stitched, at the pilot's discretion to release them.
  • Long Brake Travel: Offers powerful and forgiving control, facilitating maneuvers and quick landings on steep slopes.
  • Lightweight Materials: Lighter fabrics and risers for better wing inertia at low speeds and optimized overhead stability.
  • Sheathed Lines: For increased durability and better abrasion resistance.
  • Neoprene Brake Handles: New design optimized for use with gloves, equipped with classic snap buttons.

Flight Behavior & Safety

The Ozone Arc is a wing designed for dynamic and fast flight, specifically for speedriding and speedflying. Although its take-off is quick and its behavior described as predictable, its capabilities for very steep descent angles and direct piloting make it a demanding wing. It is EN-926 certified for load resistance, which attests to its structural robustness. However, it is crucial to note that this certification does not correspond to a classic paragliding EN-A, B, C, or D certification, and should not be interpreted as such for passive flight safety. We warn beginner or intermediate paraglider pilots: the Arc is recommended for those who already have significant prior experience in paragliding or speedriding. Advanced mastery is necessary to fully exploit its potential safely and manage dynamic situations.

Who is it for? And what size?

The Arc is aimed at a wide range of speedriding pilots, from beginners to experts, who are looking for a wing capable of true speedriding performance. It is also suitable for foot-launched speedflying for intermediate to advanced pilots who appreciate the feel of lightweight fabrics, lighter risers, and shorter line lengths. The choice of size will depend on your PTV (Pilot Total Weight) and the desired flight intensity. The smaller the size, the faster and more dynamic the wing will be. Sizes range from 6.5 to 14.5m². Refer to the specifications table to choose the size best suited to your PTV and experience level.
