Detailed description
Rid'Air Team's Opinion: " ... "
It's a wing designed for paramotoring, featuring a full Reflex profile. Based on the Roadster 3, the Spyder 3 utilizes a full range of lightweight fabrics for the most important surfaces and ribs, with optimized internal construction and a reduction in wing volume and weight. This new, lighter wing offers only advantages, with easier takeoffs, a more agile and responsive feel in flight, and greatly improved passive safety (lower wing inertia).
THE PILOT
Pilots of all levels will love the Spyder 3's takeoff characteristics, as well as its stability in active air and accelerated flight. XC pilots will appreciate its good efficiency, performance, and very agile handling. It's truly a versatile wing; perfect for basic circuits as well as long XC adventures and precision low-level flying.
THE TECHNOLOGY
The Spyder 3 incorporates all the advantages of an advanced Reflex profile and OZONE's patented Shark Nose. The Reflex profile with its Shark Nose was developed specifically for paramotoring. It maintains a constant lift level and internal pressure across a very wide range of angles of attack, thus providing exceptional levels of stability throughout the entire speed range. In turbulent air, even at low angles of attack, the Spyder is highly resistant to collapses: the Reflex profile absorbs turbulence and remains pressurized, even without pilot input. At high angles of attack, the brake travel is very forgiving and allows for large brake inputs without the risk of stalling.
THE DESIGN
The Spyder 3 features a new internal structure designed to increase the wing's strength and longevity without adding weight. Other modifications have been made to the profile's twist and line lengths to improve roll stability and reduce engine torque effect, while also enhancing the wing's handling.
TAKEOFF AND LANDING
On the ground, inflation is smooth and consistent regardless of the wind, accompanied by a steady rise, without the wing dragging behind or overshooting the pilot, even with the trimmers set in the low position. Due to this exceptional inflation behavior, the wing excels at nil-wind takeoffs, with a slow takeoff speed allowing for launch and landing in small areas.
FUN, PRECISION AND AGILITY
Despite its very forgiving nature, one of the most striking characteristics of the Spyder 3 is its agility and the fun it generates: flying it is a real pleasure. Handling is easy, predictable, and forgiving, while also being precise and responsive. The TST maintains a high level of precision and agility in accelerated flight.
