Way Gliders Lacy 2 HF: Lightweight for Learning
The Lacy 2 HF (Hike & Fly) is the lightweight version of the Lacy 2, Way Gliders' benchmark school wing. EN-A certified, it is specifically designed for student pilots and regular flyers who prioritize weight and compactness (starting from 2.7 kg) for their mountain outings.
This wing stands out for its total passive safety. Thanks to its modern profile and the use of lightweight yet robust materials, the Lacy 2 HF offers intuitive inflation: the wing rises smoothly without hard points and without overshooting. In flight, it is very damped across all axes, immediately reassuring the pilot, even in thermal conditions.
Despite its EN-A classification, the Lacy 2 HF surprises with its glide performance and upwind capability for its category. Its handling is simple and direct, with long and forgiving brake travel. It's the ideal wing for those who want a single piece of equipment capable of accompanying them from school to their first hike-and-fly summits.
Although the Lacy 2 HF is a very accessible EN-A wing, its lightweight construction (Dominico 27g fabric) requires a minimum of care during takeoff to avoid premature wear from abrasion on aggressive terrain.
