Way Gliders Lacy 2 HF: Lightness for Learning
The Lacy 2 HF (Hike & Fly) is the lightweight version of the Lacy 2, Way Gliders' reference school wing. EN-A certified, it is specifically designed for student pilots and regular practitioners who prioritize weight and compactness (starting from 2.7 kg) for their mountain outings.
This wing stands out for its total passive safety. Thanks to its modern profile and the use of light yet robust materials, the Lacy 2 HF offers intuitive inflation: the wing rises smoothly without hard points and without overshooting. In flight, it is very damped across all axes, immediately reassuring the pilot, even in thermal conditions.
Despite its EN-A classification, the Lacy 2 HF surprises with its glide performance and its ability to fly upwind for its category. Its handling is simple and direct, with long and forgiving brake travel. It's the ideal wing for those who want a single piece of equipment capable of accompanying them from school to their first hike & fly summits.
Although the Lacy 2 HF is a very accessible EN-A wing, its lightweight construction (Dominico 27g fabric) requires a minimum of care during takeoff to avoid premature abrasion wear on aggressive terrain.
