Air design Ronin
A rōnin (浪人, literally "wave man") was, in medieval Japan (1185-1868), a samurai without a master. Starting from one kilogram, and with a folded volume of 5L, the RONIN is our ultimate single-surface wing for running and flying. And running. And flying. Nothing will stop you.

Detailed description
"Rid'Air Team's Opinion: The Ronin is much more than just a single-surface wing. It's a polymorphic machine: ultra-stable and reassuring at the lower end of its weight range, it transforms into a true little speedster (speed-wing type) as soon as it's loaded. At just 1 kg, it's the ultimate tool for trail runners and mountaineers who want to descend fast and light."
Ronin #bladerunnin: The High-Performance Single-Surface Wing
The AirDesign Ronin redefines the standards of the single-surface category. With a weight starting at just 1.03 kg and a folded volume of 5 liters, it was designed for pilots who want no compromise between extreme compactness and flying pleasure. Its name, inherited from masterless samurai, reflects its independent character: it's ready for all adventures, from morning trail runs to high-mountain expeditions.
Technically, the Ronin innovates with the Kammtail profile, directly inspired by high-level cycling aerodynamics. This design reduces drag and improves overall glide performance. Unlike many single-surface wings, it offers an effective flare on landing and an impressive speed range. Its robust construction from Dominico 10D with double coating and the use of Nitinol rods ensure exceptional durability and perfect profile retention over time.
Its versatility is its greatest asset. Depending on your wing loading, it changes its character: a docile and accessible mountain wing at standard PTV, or a fast and radical speed-flying wing in the extended range. Ground attachment loops on the leading edge facilitate take-off on steep slopes or snow, making the Ronin the ideal companion for extreme hike & fly.
The Ronin is a single-surface wing certified EN-B or EN-C depending on size and loading. In the extended weight range, its speed and reactivity increase considerably: it then requires excellent piloting skills, especially for landing management.
