Detailed description
The Angel SQ V2 is Ozone's square reserve parachute. Its advantage over a round reserve: pendular stability. Under a reserve, what often causes injury is landing with strong oscillations, and a square reserve limits these oscillations. Four sizes from 100 to 180 kg maximum load. We haven't tested it in real life, and we hope you never have to. If your current reserve is recent, correctly sized, and freshly packed, save your money.

Ozone describes the Angel SQ as a semi-light square reserve that combines fast opening, high pendular stability, and a low sink rate, thanks to a large surface area for a reduced weight. The V2 retains the exact design of the first version, with revised materials and easier packing.
Technologies and Innovations
- Square canopy: better pendular stability and better sink rate than a round reserve, with fast opening.
- RSQN20D fabric on the V2 (V1 used Porcher PN9).
- Edelrid and Cousin lines, Dyneema risers.
- Two bridle options: short bridle of 38.5 cm for harnesses equipped with integrated reserve risers, long Y-bridle of 155 cm for harnesses that do not have them.
- Deployment bag included.
Behavior and Safety
The Angel SQ V2 is EN 12491 and LTF 91/09 certified in all four sizes. Ozone publishes a sink rate of 5.38 to 5.5 m/s depending on the size, measured at maximum load. Its strong point remains stability: you descend flatter, with less oscillation than with a round reserve. Like any reserve, it must be compatible with your harness and container, and regularly repacked by a professional (our workshop provides this service).
Who is it for? And which size?
For the pilot who flies regularly, in thermals, cross-country, or SIV courses, and who wants the qualities of a square reserve without opting for an ultralight model. The size corresponds to the maximum load: 100, 120, 140 or 180 kg. Calculate your all-up weight (pilot, harness, wing, reserve, and bag), and choose the next size up if you are close to the limit. Regarding the bridle, the short one is for harnesses that already have their reserve risers, the long Y-bridle is for others. Unsure? We'll check together.

Long Y-bridle: add 20 g to the indicated weight. Values from the Ozone website. The Ozone manual gives slightly different sink rates and weights, and *6735 mm system height for the 140 size: if in doubt about your setup, we'll check with Ozone.
