At Rid'Air, we don't mark up shipping costs. We charge you at cost price, down to the cent. What Colissimo charges us is exactly what you pay — shipping, insurance, VAT, period.
Colissimo rates have unfortunately increased significantly in recent years, making it impossible for us to offer free shipping on all orders as we used to. So we made a simple choice: total transparency. You see exactly what it costs, and why.
Free shipping to pickup points
For any order between €100 and €1,000 excl. tax with Colissimo Pickup Point delivery, shipping is free. No promo code needed, it's automatic.
In this range, Colissimo's base compensation (€23/kg, max €1,000) provides sufficient coverage for the equipment. No need for additional Ad Valorem insurance — we save, and pass the savings on to you.
How are shipping costs calculated?
1. Shipping rate
Based on your parcel's weight and destination. These are the 2026 Colissimo contractual rates from our professional agreement.
2. Insurance
Ad Valorem insurance is mandatory to protect your equipment. Colissimo's basic compensation is capped at €23/kg — not enough for a wing or harness.
3. VAT
20% on shipping and insurance for France and EU. 0% for overseas territories and non-EU export.
Formula: Total incl. tax = (Shipping excl. tax + Insurance excl. tax) × (1 + VAT). France example: (€14.10 + €2.20) × 1.20 = €19.56 incl. tax for a 4 kg harness insured for €300.

🛡️ Ad Valorem Insurance
As a professional seller, we are responsible for your parcel until delivery (French Consumer Code articles L216-4 and L216-5). Colissimo's basic compensation is capped at €23/kg — which covers virtually nothing when shipping a €3,000 wing weighing 5 kg.
Ad Valorem insurance is therefore systematically subscribed to protect your order. In case of loss or damage during transport, you are fully compensated up to the tier ceiling.

For orders exceeding the maximum insurance ceiling (€2,000 in France, €5,000 internationally), the residual risk is covered by Rid'Air. Your purchase is protected in all cases.

❓ Frequently asked questions
Why isn't shipping free on all orders?
We used to offer free shipping on all orders over €150 or €200. But Colissimo rates have increased by over 30% in a few years, and with mandatory insurance for equipment of this value, the bill has become steep. Rather than inflating our prices to compensate (as others do), we chose transparency: you see the real price, and we don't take a single cent of margin on it.
Why is shipping free to pickup points but not for home delivery?
Two reasons. First, pickup point delivery is cheaper than home delivery with signature. Second, for orders between €100 and €1,000 excl. tax, Colissimo's base compensation (€23/kg, max €1,000) is enough to cover the equipment — we don't need to subscribe to additional insurance. Without that insurance, the total cost is low enough for us to absorb.
My parcel is lost or damaged, what should I do?
Contact us immediately. Thanks to Ad Valorem insurance, your order is covered. We handle the claim with Colissimo and re-ship your equipment or issue a refund. You don't need to do anything on your end other than let us know.
Do you deliver to Switzerland, the UK and outside the EU?
Yes, we deliver to over 80 countries. For Switzerland, the UK and non-EU destinations, prices are displayed excl. tax and French VAT is not applied. Please note: customs duties and local import taxes are your responsibility upon receipt.
Can I track my parcel?
Of course. As soon as your order ships, you receive an email with your Colissimo tracking number. You can track your parcel in real time on La Poste's website or directly from your Rid'Air account.
