Niviuk Kode 2 P: a range to read size by size
The Niviuk Kode 2 P isn't a single-reading hike & fly wing. Under one name, the range covers different surfaces and usages, so you must check the selected size before deciding. Sizes 18 to 26 m² are rated EN-A Light, targeting accessible flying with stability and simplicity in mind. Sizes 12 to 16 m² move to a more demanding register, certified EN-A or A/B depending on the format, for experienced pilots or higher wing loads.
Weight is a real factor, but not the only one
Material-wise, the Kode 2 P sits firmly in the ultra-light category. Weight ranges from roughly 1.80 kg to 2.75 kg depending on size, which matters in real-world hike & fly scenarios where every gram adds up. This weight savings comes from Porcher Skytex 27 g fabric, Nitinol ribs, and Aramide lines. The build focuses on a compact package with minimal folding volume and quick inflation.
What to verify before deciding
The key isn't just whether the wing is light, but which Kode 2 P matches your actual flying. A heavily loaded small size behaves differently than a larger surface in the EN-A Light category. If you want a wing for steady progression or relaxed hike & fly, match the size to your real PTW and skill level. More experienced pilots looking for compactness and responsiveness will find the smaller sizes open a different flight profile.
Rid'Air take
The Kode 2 P makes sense if you need a light, compact mountain wing with clear positioning, provided you treat size selection as a performance decision. This is a genuinely modular range. Practical note: the wing is delivered without a bag; a dedicated pack is sold separately. Before locking in your choice, cross-check your actual PTW, flying goals, and the performance tier of the selected surface.
