The AirDesign Soar 2 is the ultra-light version of the Rise 5. Designed for cross-country pilots who enjoy performance hike & fly, it combines an optimized structure with AirDesign's latest technological innovations. Lighter, more compact, and more performant than its predecessor, it establishes itself as a benchmark in the EN-B Sport category.
The major innovation lies in its 2.5-line architecture. This hybrid concept allows for the feel and efficiency of a 2-liner (pitch stability, effective rear-riser steering) while maintaining the passive safety and accessibility of a 3-liner. Nitinol rods ensure a constantly taut profile, while the use of premium fabrics like Dominico 10D helps reduce the weight to as low as 3.04 kg.
In flight, the Soar 2 stands out for its ability to communicate the airmass in a gentle and usable way. The turn is precise and intuitive, typical of AirDesign's DNA. Whether you're thermalling to the top or transitioning upwind, the Soar 2 offers remarkable serenity for a wing of this weight, allowing you to stay focused on your flight strategy rather than on piloting the wing.
The Soar 2 is a "High" EN-B wing. While very safe, it is intended for pilots with regular flying experience who wish to start or progress in cross-country flying with a lightweight and performant wing.
